The construction costs of the football stadium were $110 million. On 9 September 2009, the national football team of the United States played their first game at the America First Field. They won the FIFA World Cup qualifier against El Salvador 2-1 in front of 19,000 spectators. The national football team of the United States also won their second FIFA World Cup qualifier at the venue after defeating Honduras 1-0 in front of a crowd of 20,000. The women’s national football team of the United States played their first match at the America First Field on 31 March 2010. They won the game against the United Mexican States, commonly known as Mexico, 1-0.

Address: Charlotte Country: United States Capacity: 10,000 Opened: 1 September 1936 Main use: Football, rugby union Tenants: Anthem (rugby union), Charlotte Independence (football) Extra stadium info – American Legion Memorial Stadium The stadium is named in honour of local soldiers who fell in World War I. Rugby union club Anthem Rugby Carolina and football club Charlotte Independence both use the venue for home games. Charlotte Independence was founded in 2014. Anthem Rugby Carolina was founded in 2024. They joined Major League Rugby, the top-flight rugby union league of the United States.

AutoNation Field The Sharks will share training facilities with Inter Miami and play home matches on site. Immediately adjacent to the field is the 19,100 capacity DRV PNK Stadium, which could serve as a playoff venue down the road. Extra seating is being installed that will expand capacity from 1,500 to around 5,000.
