New Zealand Under 20 team beat
Fiji in Junior World Championship opener
The New Zealand Under 20 team started their campaign in the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship in the best possible way, with a comprehensive win 59-6 over Pacific neighbours Fiji in France this morning (NZ time).
The game, which was played at Stade de Rabine, Vannes, was a physical encounter and New Zealand Head Coach Chris Boyd was encouraged by his team’s first up effort.
“It’s very pleasing to see the way the team approached today’s game. We knew it was going to be a physical challenge, and our players were aggressive across the park and executed really well,” said Boyd.
New Zealand Under 20 team take on Australia in their second round Pool B match on Monday 10 June (NZT).
