AllBlacks to play Steelers at ECOLight Stadium

The Counties Manukau Steelers pre season match against Auckland has now moved to ECOLight Stadium and both sides will take part in a mini training match against the All Blacks this Friday night 10 August.

Tana Umaga’s Counties Manukau Steelers will play the All Blacks for the first 20 minutes and Auckland will play the men in black for the next 20 minutes. This will be followed by a 40 minute hit-out between the Steelers and Auckland.

Counties Manukau CEO Andrew Maddock said “This is a great opportunity for our region to see the Rugby World Cup Champions up close and to show their support to the Steelers.”

“It is a wonderful opportunity for our boys to measure themselves against the best in the country,” said Steelers coach Tana Umaga.

The Steelers pre season match against Waikato on Wednesday 15 August has now been moved to Massey Park, Papakura. Kick-off to this match is also at 6pm. Adult ticket prices are $10 and students are $5 for all areas of ECOLight Stadium. In a new initiative supported by Pak n Save Pukekohe, all kids 13 years and under will be free to all Steelers’ 2012 home games. There will be gate sales only unless you pre purchase a Steelers season membership. Gates open at 5pm for a 6pm kick-off.

Entry to all Steelers pre season matches at home is included in the 2012 Counties Manukau season memberships. Memberships are available from www.steelers.co.nz or CMRFU office.
