Costa Rica first stop of Rugby Seven’s heading Rio 2016

Costa Rica first stop of Rugby Seven's heading Rio 2016On 8 and 9 February Costa Rica will be the first stop on the route of Rugby Seven’s heading to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

In the Sports Salesians in Carthage will be performing the Rugby Seven’s tournament ODECABE Rainforest, which will be awarding 3 places in the men and 2 women for the following Central American and Caribbean Sports Games Veracruz November 2014.
“It is a privilege for the Costa Rican rugby as the be rewarded towards the first stop in the Olympics, in what represents the return of rugby to the sports festival,” said Luis Minor steering FRCR Lamb.
The format of the event will be divided into two days of competition. Under the round robin (all against all) format.

Participating Teams:

Male: Colombia, Venezuela, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Peru (invited).
Female: Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru (invited) and El Salvador.
Rugby Federation organized Costa Rica (FRCR) and the South American Confederation of Rugby (CONSUR) in recognition of the National Olympic Committee (NOC)
